DHAKA, March 6, (V7N) – The written examination for the 6th batch of the freelancing training program under the Department of Youth Development is being held simultaneously across all 64 districts of Bangladesh today, beginning at 9:00 am Friday. Around 60,000 candidates are participating.
A total of 110,743 applicants applied for the program, competing for 4,800 available seats. The exam is being conducted in district towns, with successful candidates selected for freelancing training.
Officials said 4,800 trainees will be chosen, meaning 12–13 candidates are competing for each seat. Candidates who pass the written test will face viva examinations on March 7, after which 75 trainees from each district will be finalized.
Meanwhile, around 4,000 candidates are sitting for the exam at the head office of E-Learning and Earning Limited in Kalyanpur, Dhaka.
So far, 10,800 students have completed training under the project, with 62 percent successfully earning through freelancing marketplaces. Their combined earnings have reached about $1.35 million (BDT 227 million).
The initiative, initially launched in 16 districts and later expanded to 48, now covers all 64 districts, making it the largest rollout in its history. Stakeholders believe the overwhelming response reflects growing youth interest in digital skills and self-employment.
