JHALOKATHI, Aug 16 (V7N) — A teacher has resigned from his position as secretary of the youth department of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Kathalia upazila unit, citing his teaching profession and professional commitments.
Md Nizam Uddin announced his resignation in a video message on Saturday, saying he had taken the decision voluntarily to remain fully committed to teaching, which he described as a noble profession.
Nizam Uddin is an assistant teacher at Morichbunia Secondary School in Kathalia. He had also been serving as secretary of the upazila youth department of Jamaat-e-Islami.
In his video statement, Nizam said he wanted to continue pursuing his teaching career and had therefore decided to step away from politics voluntarily.
He also urged everyone to view his personal decision positively, saying it was taken in the greater interest of the country and society and to uphold the dignity of the teaching profession. He sought continued support and prayers so that he could fulfil his responsibilities as an ideal teacher.
When contacted, Kathalia Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Master Md Mojibur Rahman said he was attending a district-level meeting and was not yet aware of the youth leader’s resignation.
