FEB 11 (V7N) - Southampton produced a sensational late fightback from three goals down to defeat struggling Leicester City 4-3 in a dramatic Championship clash on Tuesday.

Leicester interim manager Andy King appeared to be heading for his first win in charge after a dominant first-half display at the King Power Stadium. Goals from Divine Mukasa, Patson Daka and Abdul Fatawu gave the Foxes a commanding 3-0 lead before the break.

However, the match turned on its head in the second half. Substitute Ross Stewart pulled one back for Southampton in the 61st minute, igniting hopes of a comeback.

Leicester’s fragile confidence was further exposed as Jack Stephens narrowed the gap in the 82nd minute. Just five minutes later, Ryan Manning fired home the equaliser, stunning the home crowd.

The drama reached its peak deep into stoppage time when Shea Charles struck six minutes into added time to seal an unforgettable victory for the Saints. The defeat leaves Leicester without a win in six matches and deepens the crisis at the club.

Seven years after humiliating Southampton 9-0 at St Mary’s, Leicester suffered a devastating collapse of their own against the same opponents.

The Foxes, still searching for a permanent manager following Marti Cifuentes’ sacking, remain outside the relegation zone only on goal difference. Their troubles were compounded recently by a six-point deduction from the Football League for breaching financial regulations.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Birmingham City missed the opportunity to break into the play-off spots after a goalless draw against West Bromwich Albion at St Andrew’s.

New West Brom manager Eric Ramsay remains without a win but secured a second consecutive draw, lifting his side two points clear of the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Toure netted a hat-trick as Norwich City continued their strong run of form with a 3-0 victory over second-bottom Oxford, making it five wins from their last six matches.
