Dhaka, Jan 04 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to send an official letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) concerning three key issues, including the recent incident involving cricketer Mostafizur Rahman in India. The decision was taken during a BCB board meeting on Saturday night.
According to BCB sources, the letter will request detailed information on how the ICC plans to ensure the overall safety of Bangladesh players during the World Cup. It will specifically inquire about the circumstances surrounding the Mostafizur Rahman incident, measures to prevent similar situations in the future, and safety arrangements for team officials, management staff, spectators, and journalists.
A senior BCB director confirmed that player safety remains the board’s highest priority. He indicated that without clear assurances from all parties, future decisions regarding participation could be affected.
Sources suggest that this letter goes beyond the Mostafizur issue alone, as it could significantly impact Bangladesh’s participation in the World Cup on Indian soil and the broader cricketing relationship between the two countries.
