Dhaka, Jan 03 (V7N) - The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member final squad for the upcoming ICC Under-19 World Cup, scheduled to be held this year in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
Azizul Hakim Tamim will lead the Bangladesh U-19 team as captain, with Jawad Abrar appointed as his deputy. The team is set to depart Dhaka on Sunday, January 4, for the tournament. In addition to the 15 main squad members, BCB has named seven standby players.
Bangladesh has been placed in Group A for this edition of the U-19 World Cup. The team will begin its campaign against India on January 17, followed by matches against New Zealand on January 20 and the United States on January 23.
Two players from the previous U-19 World Cup, pacer Iqbal Hossain and off-spinner Sheikh Parvez Jibon, are included in the squad again. This will mark Bangladesh’s 15th appearance in the U-19 World Cup, having won the title in 2020.

Azizul Hakim Tamim (Captain), Jawad Abrar (Vice-Captain), Samiun Basir Ratul, Sheikh Parvez Jibon, Rijan Hossain, Shahria Al Amin, Swadhin Islam, Md. Abdullah, Farid Hasan Faisal, Kalam Siddiqui Elin, Rifat Beg, Sad Islam Rajin, Al Fahad, Shahriar Ahmed, and Iqbal Hossain Iman.
Standby players:
Abdur Rahim, Debashish Sarkar Deba, Rafi Uzzaman Rafi, Farhan Shahriar, Farzan Ahmed Alif, Sanjid Majumdar, and Md. Sabuj.
