DHAKA, May 4 (V7N) - The Embassy of China in Dhaka has introduced new measures designed to significantly ease the process for Bangladeshi citizens seeking medical treatment visas for China. This initiative comes as a direct result of the mutual agreement on public health collaboration established between Chinese and Bangladeshi leaders during Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus's visit in March, as confirmed in a statement issued by the Chinese Embassy today.

One of the key facilitations is the simplification of documentation requirements. Now, local Bangladeshi travel agencies holding valid business licenses are authorized to issue guarantee letters for individuals traveling to China for medical purposes. These letters will cover aspects such as bank deposit certificates and proof of kinship, thereby waiving the previous necessity for applicants to have these crucial documents authenticated by the Bangladeshi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

To further streamline the process, the Chinese Embassy and the Visa Application Service Center have established dedicated "Green Channel" services. This includes the creation of specific hotlines (Embassy: 02222260103, 01708464809; Visa Center: 02226603261) and a WhatsApp service group (01885041364) exclusively for medical visa inquiries. Additionally, a dedicated counter has been set up at the Visa Center to allow medical visa applicants to submit their paperwork immediately upon arrival, eliminating the need to wait in general queues.

The streamlined interview process also includes prioritizing online medical visa applications for immediate review upon submission. For urgent medical situations, a "Green Channel" ensures same-day visa issuance. Moreover, applicants with scheduled medical visa appointments will receive priority, queue-free interviews. Recognizing that in-person interviews may not be feasible for all medical applicants, a guarantee letter from a travel agency can now authorize remote interview proceedings in medically inadvisable cases. The embassy highlighted the extensive experience of Chinese medical institutions in treating international patients and extended a welcome to more Bangladeshi citizens seeking health check-ups, rehabilitation, and medical care in China.
