DHAKA, May 04 (V7N)- Following a four-session decline, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) both experienced a rebound today as investors actively engaged with sector-specific stocks.

The DSEX, the primary index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, showed significant recovery, gaining 38.33 points or 0.78 percent to close at 4,956.25. The DSE 30 Index, which tracks blue-chip companies, also rose by 11.13 points, finishing at 1,834.02. Similarly, the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced by 6.20 points to settle at 1,100.38.

The trading floor of the DSE witnessed a strong dominance of gainers over losers, with 290 issues advancing, 67 declining, and 38 remaining unchanged out of the 395 issues traded. The daily trade turnover on the country's main bourse increased to Tk 3,993.36 million, up from Tk 3,266.39 million in the previous session. City Bank led the turnover chart, with BEACHHATCH, UTTARABANK, MIDLANDBANK, and AIL following closely. Bank Asia emerged as the top gainer of the day, with a 10.43 percent increase, while EIL was the biggest loser, shedding 6.41 percent.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also mirrored the positive trend, with the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) gaining 0.07 point to close at 13,805.39.
