Dhaka, Jan 10 (V7N) — Jatiya Party chairman G.M. Quader congratulated Tarique Rahman on Friday for assuming the leadership of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), following the party’s constitutional process after the vacancy left by former chairperson Khaleda Zia’s passing.

Speaking on the occasion, G.M. Quader expressed hope that Tarique Rahman would apply his skills, competence, and past experience to contribute positively to Bangladesh’s peace, stability, democracy, and development.

Quader noted that Tarique Rahman is taking on this crucial responsibility at a time when the country is facing multiple crises and uncertainties. He emphasized the importance of national unity, tolerance, and responsible political conduct during such challenging times.

He also expressed confidence that Tarique Rahman, as the capable successor of his late father, former President Ziaur Rahman, and his recently deceased mother, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, would play a significant role in the nation’s development and progress.

G.M. Quader concluded by wishing Tarique Rahman good health, a long life, and overall well-being as he assumes his new leadership role.
