Dhaka, June 22 (V7N) — The Secretariat Officers-Employees Unity Forum has staged protests demanding the immediate repeal of the Government Service (Amendment) Ordinance. The demonstration was held under Building No. 11 of the Secretariat on Sunday (June 22). Following the gathering, the protesters also brought out a procession around the Secretariat premises.
Speaking at the event, Forum Co-Chairman Md. Badiul Kabir said, “Everyone working against this law is angry. This black law must be repealed without any delay.”
Another Co-Chairman, Md. Nurul Islam, warned that “politeness, simplicity, and discipline should not be mistaken for weakness. The ordinance should not be amended—it should be repealed entirely. If necessary, we will hold sit-in protests in front of the offices of those involved in drafting this ordinance.”
At the conclusion of the program, they announced a work stoppage program at the library of the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday (June 23) from 11 am to 1 pm.
