Dhaka, Nov 7 (V7N)- The deadline for applying for re-evaluation of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results has been extended until 12 noon on Sunday (November 8).
The decision was taken after technical problems disrupted the application process, preventing some students from submitting their applications within the original deadline.
The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Examination Regulatory Committee announced the extension in an urgent notice issued on Saturday (November 7).
According to the notice, the online application system for re-examination of answer scripts and result re-evaluation experienced disruptions between 4pm and 8pm on Saturday. As a result, many candidates were unable to apply within the scheduled time.
The committee said the deadline had therefore been extended by order of the higher authorities. Applications, which were originally due to close at midnight on November 7, will now be accepted until 12 noon on November 8.
The application process for challenging HSC results began on November 1. According to the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, 278,882 students submitted applications within the stipulated period.
The candidates collectively submitted 1,037,717 applications covering multiple subjects and examination papers.
The extension is intended to give students who were affected by the technical disruption another opportunity to apply for re-evaluation.
