Dhaka, Nov 01 (V7N)- Registration for the 54th convocation of Dhaka University began on Sunday, with interested graduates and medal recipients required to complete the application process through the university’s designated website.
The registration process will continue until November 30, while the deadline for completing payments is December 2. Applicants must complete the process in four stages by visiting the university’s official convocation website: https://convocation.du.ac.bd.
The 54th convocation is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 26, 2027, at 11:00 am.
President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is expected to preside over the ceremony, while Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has agreed to attend as the guest of honour.
Professor Atsushi Tsunami, president of Japan’s Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF), will attend as the convocation speaker and receive an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
Professor Muhammad Harunur Rashid, a donor to one of Dhaka University’s trust funds, will also be awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree at the ceremony.
The decisions regarding the honorary degrees were taken at a Syndicate meeting following recommendations from the university’s Academic Council.
