Dhaka, Dec 05 (V7N)- Students who failed in one or two subjects in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations will be given another opportunity to sit for examinations on December 2, with results scheduled to be published on December 23, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has said.

He made the announcement while speaking to reporters after inspecting Shamsul Haque Khan School and College and inaugurating a smart classroom in Demra, Dhaka, on Thursday morning.

The minister said that teachers responsible for any errors or negligence in evaluating this year's HSC examination papers would face disciplinary action.

He said the government was working to develop skilled citizens through technology-based and enjoyable education. The Prime Minister had also linked sports and culture with education and launched the 'Learning with Happiness' programme for students in Classes Five and Six, he added.

Milon further said that the government planned to establish nine technical schools across eight divisions, including in Cox's Bazar, with assistance from China.

Liu Haixing, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee, was also present at the event. He said Bangladesh and China were working to strengthen their longstanding friendly relations.

Liu also invited Bangladeshi students to visit China to promote exchanges and communication between students and teachers of the two countries.
