Dhaka, Nov 05 (V7N)- President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called for equipping young people with technological skills and quality education to help them harness the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI).
He made the remarks while inaugurating the Bangladesh AI Business Summit 2026 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka on Thursday morning.
The President said AI should not be used merely as a tool to reduce costs but also as a means of developing new products and services and creating employment opportunities.
He also stressed the importance of ensuring the safe use of AI and establishing effective mechanisms to regulate the technology.
Describing the world as standing on the threshold of a major transformation, he said artificial intelligence was one of the key forces driving this change.
He further observed that AI would serve as an important catalyst in shaping Bangladesh's position in the global landscape of the future.
