Rangamati, Feb 05 (V7N) — Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has completed maximum security preparations in Rangamati ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election, deploying a total of 46 platoons across 367 polling stations in three parliamentary constituencies of Rangamati and Chittagong districts.

The information was disclosed at a press briefing held by the BGB on Thursday (February 4).

According to the briefing, in Rangamati district,

  • 4 platoons have been deployed at 41 polling stations in Rangamati Sadar Upazila,

  • 5 platoons at 10 polling stations in Barkal Upazila,

  • 5 platoons at 10 polling stations across three upazilas, and

  • 20 platoons have been deployed at a maximum of 267 polling stations in seven upazilas, including Kaptai.

Meanwhile, in Chittagong district, 12 platoons of BGB will be deployed at 43 polling stations in four upazilas, including Raozan and Rangunia.

As part of the election security preparations, BGB personnel have undergone drone operation training, riot control exercises, training in the use of non-lethal weapons, deployment of body-worn cameras, and the establishment of battalion-level monitoring cells.

The BGB will remain deployed during the pre-election, election day, and post-election periods, working in close coordination with the police and Ansar forces to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful voting environment.
