Dhaka, Oct 11 (V7N) – The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all types of gatherings, processions, and demonstrations in front of the Chief Justice’s residence, Mazar Gate, and surrounding areas.

The directive was issued through a notification signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali on Saturday (October 11).

According to the notification, the decision was made to maintain public order under the powers granted by Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76).

The ban covers areas in front of and around the Chief Justice’s official residence, Justice Bhaban, Judges Complex, main gate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, Mazar Gate, Jame Masjid Gate, entrances of International Crimes Tribunals 1 and 2, and the Judicial Administration Training Institute building. The restriction will take effect from October 12 and remain in force until further notice.

Additionally, the DMP has urged all concerned not to block roads or disrupt traffic under the pretext of various protest programs or demands.
