Savar, Aug 22 (V7N)- Five newly appointed ministers and state ministers paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar on Saturday.

They laid wreaths at the memorial around noon and stood in silence for a while in remembrance of those who sacrificed their lives during the Liberation War.

After paying tribute, Local Government Minister Dr. Abdul Moin Khan said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had received the people's mandate during a difficult period for the country. He said the addition of new members to the Cabinet was part of the government's normal administrative process.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashiduzzaman Millat said all government plans are aimed at the country's development.

He said the Prime Minister has taken responsibility with a focus on determining how, where and with whom the government can work most effectively to achieve positive results.

Meanwhile, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir said the new government has formulated its foreign policy by putting Bangladesh's interests first.

Regarding the demand for bringing former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina back to Bangladesh, he said such a demand is natural, but Bangladesh will not compromise on its national interests.
