Dhaka, June 25 (V7N) – Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Susan Ryle, and Australian Federal Police (AFP) representative Matthew Craft paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh’s Inspector General of Police (IGP), Md. Baharul Alam, on Tuesday morning at the Police Headquarters in Dhaka.

During the meeting, both sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in combating human trafficking, money laundering, and other transnational crimes. The discussions reflected the mutual interest in enhancing collaboration between the Bangladesh Police and the Australian Federal Police.

According to a statement from Police Headquarters, IGP Baharul Alam informed the visiting delegation that the Bangladesh Police is committed to deepening its cooperation with the AFP to effectively tackle emerging security challenges.

Several senior police officials were also present during the meeting, including Additional IGP of the Special Branch (SB) Golam Rasul, Additional IGP (Crime & Operations) Khandaker Rafiqul Islam, and CID Additional IGP Chhibgat Ullah, among others.

The meeting highlighted the growing partnership between Bangladesh and Australia in law enforcement, particularly in areas concerning cross-border crimes, intelligence sharing, and capacity-building initiatives.
