TEHRAN, Mar 14, (V7N) – Iranian media reported Saturday that no oil infrastructure was damaged in U.S. strikes on Kharg Island, Tehran’s key crude export hub in the Gulf.
The Fars news agency, citing sources on the island, said the operation targeted military sites including the Joshan naval base, airport control tower, and a helicopter hangar of the Iran Continental Shelf Oil Company. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed only military targets were hit, though he had earlier threatened to strike oil facilities if Tehran continued blocking the Strait of Hormuz.
Kharg Island handles about 90 percent of Iran’s crude exports. Iran has warned it could retaliate against U.S.-linked oil infrastructure.
Israeli strikes: The Israeli army warned residents in Tabriz’s industrial zone to evacuate ahead of operations. Strikes also hit Beirut suburbs and southern Lebanon, killing medical staff at a clinic. Lebanon’s health ministry said 773 people have died since March 2.
US embassy attack: A drone struck the U.S. embassy in Baghdad, with smoke seen rising from the compound. The attack followed U.S. strikes on Kataeb Hezbollah, killing two members including a key figure.
Trump’s remarks: Trump declared Iran “totally defeated” in the U.S.-Israeli campaign, saying Tehran now seeks a deal, though not one he would accept.
Hamas plea: Hamas urged Iran to avoid targeting neighboring countries while affirming its right to respond to aggression.
Qatar evacuations: Authorities ordered evacuations in Doha’s Musheireb district amid Iran’s retaliatory air campaign.
Iran missiles: Tehran launched fresh missiles toward Israel, but no casualties were reported as Israeli defenses intercepted the threat.
U.S. military buildup: Reports said Washington is reinforcing its Middle East presence with Marines and an amphibious assault ship.
