RAJBARI, May 26, (V7N): The Rajbari district and police administrations have significantly intensified security operations and structural monitoring at the Daulatdia ferry terminal. This coordinated intervention aims to guarantee the uninterrupted, safe movement of homebound passengers and commercial vehicles ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festival rush.
To ensure efficient oversight, Rajbari Deputy Commissioner (DC) Afroza Parveen and Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Monjur Morshed led a high-level on-site inspection of the Daulatdia ferry ghat and its surrounding transit management channels on Monday. The inspection delegation included key regional administrators such as Additional Deputy Commissioner Tarif Ul Hasan, Executive Magistrate Uchaney Me, Goalanda Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sathi Das, Goalanda Naval Police Officer Trinath Saha, and BIWTC Assistant Director Md. Salauddin.
Official administrative sources revealed that the authorities are implementing extraordinary, rigorous safety precautions following a tragic bus accident at the Daulatdia hub on March 25, which claimed 26 lives. The current deployment serves as a direct strategic measure to eliminate similar structural risks and prevent catastrophic operational failures during the high-density Eid travel season.
Law enforcement personnel have heavily scaled up surveillance across all key vehicle embarkation points, ticketing zones, and ferry loading zones. Various administrative departments linked to the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) have set up round-the-clock shift rotations to rapidly resolve cargo backlogs, manage public suffering, and keep localized traffic bottlenecks tightly contained.
DC Afroza Parveen stated that the district administration, local police units, BIWTC, and auxiliary water transport agencies are actively executing joint strategies to provide a completely hassle-free travel experience for Eid travelers. She emphasized that targeted protocols are currently operational to streamline heavy commercial traffic, protect mass passenger routes, and accelerate the loading of freight trucks transporting sacrificial livestock across the river.
Following the thorough technical inspection, SP Mohammad Monjur Morshed confirmed that additional tactical police forces have been stationed throughout the strategic junctions of the Daulatdia hub. He added that multiple specialized river police vessels have been deployed to patrol the waterways 24 hours a day, maintaining standard vehicle flow and ensuring robust security across the critical maritime corridor.
