Aug 16 (V7N) - Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury MP has pledged to extend all-out cooperation for the overall development of Khulna, saying he will personally accompany the Khulna Development Authority (KDA) chairman to the concerned ministries whenever necessary.
"Although Magura is my constituency, Khulna is my city at heart. I have stood beside the people of Khulna during the anti-fascist movement over the past 17 years. So, I will certainly be a partner in the city's overall development," he said.
The minister made the remarks during a courtesy meeting with KDA Chairman Advocate SM Shafiqul Alam Mona, board members and officials at the KDA conference room here this afternoon.
At the beginning of the meeting, the minister witnessed a digital presentation on various projects and activities undertaken by the KDA.
He said irregularities in government activities would not be tolerated and urged KDA officials to discharge their duties with honesty and sincerity.
He expressed optimism that Bangladesh would emerge as a self-reliant, dignified and economically prosperous country under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Khulna-1 lawmaker Kudrat-e-Amir Eazaz Khan, KDA Chairman SM Shafiqul Alam Mona, board members MM Mahmudur Rahman and Ruhul Amin Qutubuddin Ahmad, and senior KDA officials were present at the meeting.
