DHAKA, May 17, (V7N)– The National Legal Aid Organization has successfully recovered a total of Taka 6,63,26,215 in compensation for laborers from various organizations across Bangladesh, according to official sources today.

Information available on the organization's website indicates that this amount has been realized for laborers nationwide from 2013 up to April of this year. Initially, the organization focused on providing services to impoverished individuals seeking justice at the district level. Subsequently, a toll-free call center was established in the Supreme Court, and two additional centers were set up specifically for laborers in Dhaka and Chattogram. Similar legal aid services were also extended to all prisons throughout the country.

The legal aid centers located in Dhaka and Chattogram have provided a total of 21,549 legal services to laborers up to April this year. These centers have so far initiated 4,425 cases on behalf of laborers, with 809 of these cases having been successfully resolved.

Furthermore, the organization has initiated 3,300 cases for alternative dispute resolution (ADR), resulting in the resolution of 1,913 cases. A total of 29,274 laborers have received legal advice from the Dhaka and Chattogram centers of the organization to date.

Since its inception, the National Legal Aid Organization has been dedicated to providing legal services to the poor and marginalized individuals seeking justice in Bangladesh, operating under the guidance of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
