Dhaka, Nov 27 (V7N)- For the past few days, unusual numbers appearing in the social media posts of several popular female stars in Bangladesh have sparked widespread curiosity. Some posted ‘9’, others ‘24’, while a few displayed ‘1000’ on their photos—leaving netizens wondering what these figures represent. The mystery has now been solved.
The numbers are part of a collective stand against digital violence and cyberbullying. Celebrities have joined a new protest initiative titled ‘My Number, My Story’, where each number represents the average number of times they face online harassment every day.
The movement was initiated by actress Nusrat Imroz Tisha on November 25. By placing the number ‘9’ on her photo, she revealed that she is harassed online at least nine times a day. Sharing her experience, Tisha wrote:
“From numbers to voices, let’s present our story to everyone. People may only see a number, but I can see everything I have endured and overcome.”
Following her lead, many other female celebrities expressed solidarity:
-
Runa Khan – 24 times a day
-
Shabnam Faria – a staggering 1000 times a day
-
Prarthana Fardin Dighi – 3
-
Moushumi Hamid – 72
-
Sajia Sultana Putul – 9
-
Ashna Habib Bhavana – 99 plus
Speaking to the media, actress Runa Khan highlighted the broader issue, stating:
“Not just stars—any woman can be a victim of harassment on social media. As social media has expanded rapidly over the past decade, many people still haven’t learned how to use it responsibly.”
The ‘My Number, My Story’ campaign has quickly gained traction, sparking discussions nationwide about online abuse and the urgent need to create a safer digital space for women.
