Los Angeles, Sept 6 (V7N) – Hollywood icon Bruce Willis has appeared in a rare family portrait alongside his wife, ex-wife, and daughters as he continues his fight with dementia.

The 70-year-old “Die Hard” star was photographed with his 47-year-old wife, Emma Heming Willis, and his ex-wife, Oscar-nominated actress Demi Moore, 62. The family gathering also included Willis’ daughters: Evelyn, 11, and Mabel, 13, with Heming Willis, and Tallulah, 30, Scout, 33, and Rumer, 37, with Moore. In the touching images, published by Vanity Fair on September 5 and captured by Norman Jean Roy, Moore was seen holding her granddaughter, Louetta Thomas Willis, Rumer’s first child.

The photographs were released ahead of Heming Willis’ memoir, The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope and Yourself on the Caregiving Path, set to hit shelves on September 9. The book chronicles her experience of caring for Willis, whose frontotemporal dementia diagnosis was publicly announced in 2023.

The release follows recent controversy after Heming Willis confirmed during an ABC special on August 26 that her husband is now living in a separate residence under professional care. She explained that the decision was made to provide him with a calmer environment better suited to his condition.

Facing criticism online, Heming Willis addressed the backlash in a video posted to Instagram on August 29. She acknowledged that sharing personal details about her family’s journey would draw mixed reactions. “What I knew is that by sharing some of our intimate information, we would see these two camps,” she said. “It would be people with an opinion versus people with an actual experience.”

She added that caregivers are often unfairly judged: “People with an opinion are quick to judge the caregiver. This is what caregivers are up against—judgment from others.”

The Willis family, long admired for maintaining unity despite life changes, continues to draw attention and support as they navigate the actor’s health battle with courage and openness.
