Comilla, Sep 19 (V7N)- The body of Aprotim, 13, the missing son of Dr. Nahida Begum, an Associate Professor in the Department of Bangla at Comilla University, was recovered from a wooded area of Lalmai Sananda Hill near the university campus on Saturday.
Aprotim, a seventh-grade student at Comilla Border Guard Public School, went missing on Friday afternoon after leaving his home in the Kotbari area with his mother's iPhone to take photographs with friends.
When he failed to return home, his father, K.M. Firoz Shahriar, filed a General Diary (GD) with the Comilla Sadar South Model Police Station.
Dr. Nahida Begum had earlier appealed for help through a Facebook post, saying she had been unable to find her son since around 3pm.
She said Aprotim had taken her iPhone to take photographs and was wearing a panjabi when he left home. She also said police had been informed about his disappearance.
The recovery of Aprotim's body has left his family and relatives devastated. He was Dr. Nahida Begum's only child.
Police are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death and determine how he came to be in the wooded area.
