Teknaf, Sept 20 (V7N) — Teknaf-based journalist Jashim Uddin Tipo has been named the Best Upazila Correspondent of the Year 2026 by Bangladeshi newspaper Ajker Desh-Bidesh.
According to the newspaper authorities, Tipo was recognised for his consistent news reporting and contributions to investigative journalism.
He received the award at the newspaper’s annual representatives’ meeting held at the Royal Palace Hotel in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday.
Anisur Rahman Yahia, chairman of Yahia Group and chairman of the newspaper’s board of editors, attended the event as the chief guest. Senior journalist and Kaler Kantho office chief Advocate Tofayel Ahmed was the chief discussant.
The meeting was chaired by Acting Editor Bijoy Kumar Dhar and attended by senior editorial staff, reporters, correspondents and multimedia representatives from across the region.
After receiving the award, Tipo expressed gratitude to Allah and thanked the newspaper’s management and colleagues for recognising his work.
