Korean, Oct 24, (V7N) Korean indie band Wave to Earth is gaining significant attention for its unique blend of musical genres and global outreach. Since their last update in August 2023, the trio has been busy following a successful sold-out tour.

"After last year's tour, we went straight to Europe and Asia, and then we produced our new album," said bassist John Cha during an interview at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland. "Everything moved quickly; it feels like just yesterday."

The band's Spotify listeners have nearly doubled to over 8.4 million per month, and they recently performed at the Austin City Limits festival. With another album release and a second sold-out U.S. tour, Wave to Earth remains focused on their journey.

"This privilege allows us to travel the world," John stated. "It still feels like a miracle, but we always dreamed of this moment." On October 21, the venue was already packed, with fans lining up around the block.

Drummer Dong Kyu Shin described the past year as surreal. Currently, they are halfway through their North American tour, which started in Vancouver on September 16, and every show has sold out. "It's been great to see more fans and cities compared to last year," he noted.

John expressed surprise at the growing audience. "We didn't know where all these people came from," Dong Kyu added with a laugh. Guitarist Daniel Kim emphasized the significance of each performance: "Every show is surprising, and I cherish those moments."

Despite their rapid rise, John highlighted the importance of their bond. "I'm focusing on our progress and our relationship, even though fame is enjoyable," he shared.

The North American tour coincides with the release of their latest album, play with earth! 0.03, which debuted on September 6. "I appreciate that people connect with our songs," Dong Kyu said.

Their lead single, "Annie," has become a highlight of their performances. "It's a fun moment when the crowd sings along," Daniel remarked.

The band has also expanded its lineup on tour, adding keyboardist Jo Jung-geun and saxophonist Jeon-min. "Having two more members makes it more enjoyable," John noted.

Live performances greatly influence their creative process. "We improvise a lot, whether in rehearsals or on stage," Dong Kyu explained. "These moments can inspire future albums."

Daniel seeks to create music that resonates with listeners, feeling most connected during live performances. "That's when I feel truly alive," he shared.

Inspiration for their music comes from various sources. John draws from personal experiences, while Dong Kyu finds it in discussions with his bandmates. "For me, it's like keeping a diary," John revealed. Daniel looks for thematic elements to develop in his songwriting.

Ultimately, their shared passion for music drives their ambitions. "Our goal is to continue making music forever," John concluded, encapsulating the essence of Wave to Earth.
