Munshiganj, May 18 (V7N) — Content creator and actress Kareena Kaiser has been laid to rest at her grandmother’s residence in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj following her funeral prayers on Monday morning.
Her final funeral was held at 7:00 am in Abdullahpur village, behind Bhaberchar bus stand, where family members and local residents attended the prayer ceremony.
Kareena Kaiser is the daughter of former national football team star Kaiser Hamid and Lopa Kaiser. After the funeral, she was buried in the courtyard of her grandmother’s garden house as per family wishes.
Family sources said her body was brought to Gazaria on Sunday night after formal procedures in Dhaka. Prior to that, people from various walks of life paid their last respects at the Central Shaheed Minar in the capital.
Although multiple funeral ceremonies were held in Dhaka with public attendance, the final burial in the village was conducted privately, in line with the family’s decision. Media personnel and cameras were restricted from the burial site, and attendees were requested to maintain privacy.
Kareena’s younger brother, Sadat Hamid, said the family chose a quiet burial in the village to avoid media attention and large crowds, requesting understanding from the public.
She passed away on Friday (May 15) while undergoing treatment in Chennai, India, after long-term liver complications. Her body was later flown to Dhaka on Sunday, where family members, including her father Kaiser Hamid, received her in an emotional state before the final rites were performed.
