Tehran, Jul 23 (V7N) – Iranian Parliament Speaker and senior negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States could spread across the Middle East unless hostilities come to a complete end.
According to Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera, Ghalibaf made the remarks in a post on social media platform X on Wednesday (July 22).
He warned that if Iran is prevented from exporting its oil, no other country in the region should expect to do so without disruption.
"No other country will be allowed to sell oil in a region where Iran itself cannot sell oil," Ghalibaf said.
The Iranian parliament speaker also argued that no infrastructure in the Middle East would remain secure if Iran's own security is threatened.
He further claimed that lasting security in the Strait of Hormuz depends on the complete withdrawal of US military forces from the region.
Ghalibaf also asserted that the strategically important Strait of Hormuz would "never return to its pre-war state," suggesting that the regional security environment has fundamentally changed.
His remarks come as military tensions between Iran and the United States continue to escalate, fueling concerns over the security of energy supplies and international shipping through one of the world's most vital maritime trade routes.
