“You must either give up drugs or leave Ukhiya. Either you will go to prison or quit the drug trade,” he said while addressing an anti-drug rally and street meeting at the premises of Khadijatul Kubra Girls’ Madrasa in Palongkhali union on Monday afternoon.
The programme was organised by Ukhiya Police under the slogan “Say No to Drugs”. The rally began at the madrasa premises, passed through nearby areas and the main local road, and returned to the venue, where a street meeting was held.

Speakers at the meeting said law enforcement operations alone would not be enough to eliminate drugs. They called for a united social movement involving families, communities and local residents to prevent drug abuse.
They also emphasised the role of families and communities in protecting young people from the harmful effects of drugs.
