RAJSHAHI, May 11 (V7N) – A training workshop was held in Rajshahi to raise public awareness against corruption and strengthen the role of local Corruption Prevention Committees. The event, organized by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Integrated District Office, took place at the Public Works Department auditorium.
ACC Director Md. Mozahar Ali Sardar, speaking as chief guest, said corruption cannot be eliminated through law enforcement alone and requires a social movement. He emphasized the importance of public participation and highlighted the Right to Information Act, 2009 as a tool to ensure transparency and accountability.
Deputy Director Md. Fazlul Bari, who presided over the session, noted that grassroots committees play a vital role in building awareness and social resistance. He stressed that the ACC focuses not only on punitive measures but also on preventive activities to promote honesty at all levels of society.
Special guest AKM Fazle Hossain, ACC Divisional Director, suggested forming Honesty Stores and Honesty Clubs in schools to instill ethics and patriotism in students. He said coordinated efforts between committees, teachers, and administrators can help build a culture that rejects corruption.
Other speakers, including ACC officials and education leaders, discussed preventive programs and the role of schools, parents, and social organizations in motivating students toward moral education. Participants called for stronger local initiatives, broader awareness campaigns, and increased social engagement to ensure proper use of state resources and build sustainable resistance against corruption.
