PABNA, April 25 (V7N) — A case has been filed over the violent clash at Ishwardi Government College, where activists of Chhatra Dal and Chhatra Shibir engaged in brick‑throwing, cocktail explosions, and vandalism of Chhatra Dal’s temporary office.
Ishwardi Government College branch Chhatra Dal president Khaled Bin Parthib filed the case Friday morning, naming Sajib Hasan, president of Ishwardi Upazila Chhatra Shibir, as the main accused. Thirty‑one others, including Shibir’s upazila secretary and college branch leaders, were named, along with 60–70 unidentified individuals.
Ishwardi Police Station OC Asadur Rahman confirmed the filing but said no arrests have been made yet. He added that no complaint has been filed by Shibir in connection with the incident.
The violence erupted Thursday around 11:30 am when Chhatra Dal and Chhatra Shibir held separate programs on the college campus in response to an incident at Chittagong City College. The two groups clashed with processions, leading to chasing, brick‑throwing, and explosions of several cocktails.
During the confrontation, Chhatra Dal’s temporary office was vandalized, and several activists from both sides sustained injuries. Police on site intervened to bring the situation under control.
Additional police have since been deployed in front of the college to prevent further unrest. Authorities are continuing operations to identify those involved.
