Bagerhat, Jan 02 (V7N) — The second funeral prayer of eminent Islamic scholar, spiritual guide and founder of Jhiloniyah Darbar Sharif and Habibullah Abad Islamia Siddiqia Nesaraiya Salehiya Alia Kamil (MA) Madrasa, Al-Haj Hazrat Maulana Shah Sufi Muhammad Abdur Rahman Khan, will be held on Tuesday, January 6.

The janaza will take place at 11:00 am at the Darbar Sharif established at his residence in Morrelganj’s Jhiloniyah area of Bagerhat district. The Darbar Sharif authorities have requested devout Muslims from all walks of life to attend the funeral prayer.

Shah Sufi Muhammad Abdur Rahman Khan passed away on December 28 while performing Umrah in the holy city of Makkah. He breathed his last at 12:45 pm Bangladesh time due to old age, responding to the call of the Almighty Allah. He was 97 years old.

A revered Sufi saint, lifelong preacher of Shariah and Tariqah, and an embodiment of the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he was widely regarded as one of the most influential spiritual leaders of his time. His death has left his six sons, three daughters, countless followers, admirers, and hundreds of thousands of devotees in deep mourning.

The first funeral prayer was held after Zuhr on December 31 at the holy Baitullah Sharif in Makkah. The upcoming janaza in Bagerhat will mark the final farewell by his followers and devotees in Bangladesh.

His lifelong contribution to Islamic education, spiritual guidance, and moral preaching continues to be remembered with profound respect across the country and beyond.
