Dhaka, Dec 08 (V7N) – Following a downturn in the global market, gold prices have also declined in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) reduced gold prices by Tk 1,050 per bhori on Tuesday (December 2), setting new rates for the domestic market.
As of today, Monday (December 8), the price of 22-carat gold stands at Tk 2,11,095 per bhori (11.664 grams).
According to a BAJUS notification, the price of pure gold has fallen in the local market. Considering the overall situation, the association set new prices for gold, which will remain effective in all jewelry establishments until further notice.
Under the revised rates, 21-carat gold is being sold at Tk 2,11,496 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 1,72,709 per bhori, and gold made in the traditional method at Tk 1,43,689 per bhori.
BAJUS also noted that a government-imposed 5 percent VAT and a minimum 6 percent wage set by the association must be added to the selling price. However, the final wage may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewelry.
