Sylhet, Sep 15 (V7N)- President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir arrived in Sylhet on Tuesday for the first time since assuming office.
He reached Sylhet Osmani International Airport by air at 11:27 AM on Tuesday (September 15). Local political leaders and senior administrative officials, including Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir and Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury, welcomed him at the airport.
After his arrival, the President left the airport for Sylhet Circuit House in a motorcade. He is scheduled to receive a guard of honour upon reaching the Circuit House.
Later in the afternoon, Mirza Fakhrul will visit the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) to pay his respects. He will then travel to the shrine of Hazrat Shahparan (RA) to offer prayers before returning to the Circuit House for a brief rest.
He is also scheduled to attend a civic reception organized by Sylhet City Corporation in the afternoon. Following the reception, he will return to the Circuit House.
In the evening, the President will leave Sylhet Osmani International Airport for Dhaka. He is expected to reach Bangabhaban at around 9:30 PM.
