Caracas, Oct 26 (V7N)- Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado has reportedly returned to her home country after more than 10 months in exile, declaring on social media, “I am here, with you.”

Her reported return comes amid a turbulent political situation in Venezuela, where questions over the country’s leadership and relations with Washington have drawn international attention.

Machado was reportedly seen praying at a church in Lara state on Sunday, October 25, as supporters gathered around her to embrace and welcome her. She later travelled towards the capital, Caracas, in a motorcade accompanied by cheering supporters. Videos and social media posts reportedly showed her greeting crowds through the sunroof of her vehicle after arriving in the capital late Sunday.

In another post on X, Machado wrote, “A night of reconciliation in our Caracas. For the reconciliation of every family, for the release of every political prisoner, for the freedom of Venezuela.”

Her close ally and former presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia also welcomed the reported return, describing it as an important moment for the Venezuelan people.

“I am very happy to announce that our leader, my beloved María Corina, is now on Venezuelan soil,” González said in a statement.

“Today is a very important day for the Venezuelan people. Our sovereign voice has returned. She will lead and guide this process,” he added.

Machado had previously faced difficulties returning to Venezuela after leaving the country to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in Norway, according to the account provided.

The report also describes major political developments involving President Nicolás Maduro, US forces and Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, who allegedly assumed the role of interim president with support from the administration of US President Donald Trump. Rodríguez was also reported to have signed an oil agreement with Washington.

Machado, a prominent figure in Venezuela’s opposition movement, has continued to call for political change and the release of political prisoners. Her reported return could carry significant implications for the opposition as the country navigates its political future.
