Gaza City, Jun 07 (V7N) – At least five Palestinians were killed and more than a dozen others injured after an Israeli strike hit a wedding gathering in the Gaza Strip, according to local sources.

Witnesses said two missiles struck a wedding tent that was crowded with guests, including women and children, during the celebration. Several people were killed instantly, while many others sustained injuries, some of them critical.

Medical sources said the death toll could rise as a number of the wounded remain in serious condition.

A source at Al-Shifa Hospital said many of the injured were receiving treatment at the hospital as well as at a nearby field hospital. Witnesses described scenes of devastation, saying the venue, which moments earlier had been hosting a wedding celebration, was transformed into a scene of destruction and mourning following the attack.

Local residents also reported that shrapnel from the explosions struck a nearby school where displaced Palestinian families had taken shelter, causing additional panic among civilians in the area.

Meanwhile, another incident in the occupied West Bank has drawn attention after reports emerged that a seven-month-old Palestinian infant was killed during an Israeli military operation.

According to reports, the incident occurred in the Tel Rumeida area of Hebron on Friday. The child, identified as Sam Fahd Abu Haykal, was travelling in a vehicle with his parents when Israeli soldiers allegedly opened fire after ordering the vehicle to stop.

The infant's father said a bullet passed through his hand before striking his child. The baby was rushed to hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. Both parents were also injured and received medical treatment.

The incidents come amid ongoing violence in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, where clashes and military operations have continued to result in civilian casualties.

There was no immediate official comment from Israeli authorities regarding either incident.

The latest deaths are expected to add to growing international concern over the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territories as the conflict continues.
