Tehran, May 26 (V7N)- Iran’s Supreme Leader has warned that regional countries will no longer act as a “shield” for US military bases in the Middle East or the Persian Gulf, and that Washington will not find any “safe haven” in the region.
The remarks were published on Tuesday (May 26) through a statement shared on an official Telegram channel associated with Iran’s leadership.
According to the statement, Mojtaba Khamenei said that Iran’s regional posture is becoming more assertive amid ongoing diplomatic discussions between Tehran and Washington over a possible framework agreement aimed at de-escalating tensions and ending months of conflict.
The statement warned that any reliance on allied regional powers to protect US military installations would no longer be effective, signaling a tougher Iranian stance during sensitive negotiations.
The message comes at a time when indirect discussions between Iran and the United States are reportedly underway over the outline of a potential peace deal, including security arrangements and regional stability measures.
However, claims circulating in the statement regarding leadership changes and past events could not be independently verified. No official confirmation has been made by international agencies regarding such developments.
Iranian authorities have increasingly relied on digital platforms and official messaging channels for communication, amid heightened security concerns and limited public appearances by top leadership figures.
