Abu Dhabi, May 14 (V7N) — The United Arab Emirates has dismissed reports claiming that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently visited the country, describing the claims as baseless.
The clarification was issued in a statement published by the UAE’s state news agency WAM on Wednesday.
According to the statement, claims made by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office regarding the alleged visit are “completely untrue.”
The UAE administration also emphasized that its relationship with Israel is public and formally established through the Abraham Accords, rejecting suggestions of secret diplomatic dealings.
“The relationship is not based on any kind of secrecy,” the statement added.
Earlier in February, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office claimed that Netanyahu had visited the UAE in the context of the ongoing tensions and war involving Iran.
At the time, several international media outlets reported that Netanyahu held a confidential meeting with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
