Tokyo, May 13 (V7N) – Japanese snack manufacturer Kalbi Inc. has announced a temporary shift to black-and-white packaging for several of its products, citing disruptions linked to a global ink supply crisis reportedly caused by the ongoing Iran conflict.
According to a report by The Times of Israel on Wednesday, the company said the measure is intended to ensure a stable and uninterrupted product supply.
Starting May 25, Kalbi Inc. will limit the use of colored packaging to just two colors across 14 product lines. The company said the decision reflects adjustments to current geopolitical and supply chain conditions affecting raw material availability, including printing ink.
Founded in 1949, Kalbi Inc. currently employs more than 5,000 staff members and is considered one of Japan’s leading snack producers.
However, the company has not yet announced how long the temporary packaging change will remain in effect, noting that the situation will be reviewed depending on global supply conditions.
