Tehran, Apr 22 (V7N) — Majid Mousavi, a senior commander of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has warned that the Gulf region’s oil industry could face severe destruction if a new war breaks out.
Warning over regional involvement
According to Al Jazeera, citing Iranian media, Mousavi said that any renewed military aggression against Iran would be a “major mistake.”
He cautioned that if neighboring countries allow the United States to use their territory or facilities to launch attacks on Iran, key oil installations across the Gulf could become targets.
“Oil production will be at risk”
Mousavi stated:
“If the southern neighbors allow the enemy to use their facilities to attack Iran, then the Middle East’s oil production will have to say goodbye.”
Strategic implications
The warning comes amid heightened tensions in the region, where the United States maintains military bases and troop deployments in several Gulf countries. Analysts say any escalation could disrupt global energy markets, as the Gulf remains a critical hub for oil production and export.
