Beijing, Apr 14 (V7N) — Chinese President Xi Jinping has proposed a “four-point plan” aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Middle East amid ongoing regional tensions.
He presented the proposal during a meeting with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed in Beijing, according to state and diplomatic sources.
President Xi warned that the world must not return to what he described as a “law of the jungle,” emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and adherence to global norms.
The Chinese leader said the recent escalation in the Middle East, following joint US-Israeli actions against Iran several weeks ago, has increased the urgency for diplomatic engagement and conflict resolution.
Outlining his proposal, Xi called for the maintenance of a “peace-oriented policy” among nations and the development of a “sustainable security framework” to prevent further instability in the region.
He also stressed that international law must be applied equally to all countries, stating that it should not be selectively enforced or ignored. China, he added, would continue to play a constructive role in efforts to advance peace talks.
