United Nations, Apr 14 (V7N) — Iran has demanded compensation from five Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia, over alleged involvement in regional hostilities linked to the ongoing Iran conflict.
Iran’s UN representative Amir Saeed Iravani made the demand in a letter addressed to UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the President of the UN Security Council on Monday (April 13), according to Anadolu Agency.
In the letter, Iran accused Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan of violating international law by allegedly supporting US and Israeli actions against Iran. It further claimed that such involvement contributed to instability across the Gulf region and resulted in significant civilian casualties, including women and children.
Tehran stated that these countries bear responsibility for damages caused during the conflict and therefore must provide compensation.
No immediate response from the named countries or the United Nations was reported regarding the allegations.
