Bangkok, Aug 29 (V7N) – Thailand’s Constitutional Court has removed Prime Minister Phet Thongsinghe from office on charges of violating moral standards, CNN reported on Friday.

The decision follows a complaint filed last June over controversial remarks made by Thongsinghe during a telephone conversation with a Cambodian political leader. At that time, the court had temporarily suspended him from his post.

Thongsinghe, a member of the influential Shinawatra family, became Thailand’s youngest prime minister, generating significant discussion both domestically and internationally. However, his tenure lasted just one year before the court’s ruling forced him to step down.
