Gaza, July 28 (V7N) – Israel has confirmed that more than 120 truckloads of food aid were delivered to the Gaza Strip on the first day of a partial ceasefire, according to a report by AFP.

On Sunday, Israel declared a "strategic" pause in military operations in select areas of Gaza, aiming to open safe routes for humanitarian assistance. The move came with a call for aid agencies to increase the delivery of critical supplies to the besieged territory.

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT)—a branch of the Israeli Defense Ministry responsible for civil coordination in Palestinian areas—announced on Monday that the United Nations and various international organizations successfully collected and distributed the aid during the temporary lull in fighting.

The partial ceasefire is seen as a response to growing international pressure to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where severe shortages of food, medicine, and fuel have left millions at risk.

Humanitarian agencies continue to urge both parties to ensure sustained access to aid corridors and protection for civilians, especially as fighting persists in other parts of the enclave.
