Washington, May 04 (V7N) – The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has announced that it welcomes the participation of international partners in the exploration of the solar system following the planned retirement of the International Space Station (ISS).
NASA press secretary Bethany Stevens made the remarks in response to questions about the future of US-Russia space cooperation, as reported by TASS. “We welcome the interest of international partners in expanding the exploration of the solar system for the benefit of humanity,” she said.
The statement comes on the heels of the fiscal year 2026 budget proposal released by the administration of former President Donald Trump on Friday, which outlines preparations to begin in 2030 for the ISS to be decommissioned.
According to a statement on NASA’s official website, the agency aims to continue working with international collaborators on missions to the Moon and Mars, signaling a new era of multinational space exploration beyond low Earth orbit.
