Madrid, Oct 15 (V7N)- Real Madrid produced a dramatic late comeback to defeat Roma 4-3 in the UEFA Champions League, scoring three goals in the final seven minutes after trailing 3-1. Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain stunned Manchester City 4-2 at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
Real Madrid once again demonstrated their ability to turn a match around in the closing stages of Europe’s premier club competition, while PSG brought Manchester City’s winning momentum to an end with an impressive attacking performance.
At Rome’s Olympic Stadium, the hosts appeared to be on course for victory after establishing a 3-1 lead by the 82nd minute. However, the match took a dramatic turn in the closing stages.
Carlos Espín reduced the deficit for Real Madrid in the 83rd minute, giving the visitors renewed hope. Brazilian youngster Endrick then headed home from an Arda Güler corner to level the score at 3-3.
The comeback was completed in the 90th minute when Antonio Rüdiger scored from another set-piece delivery by Güler, turning a two-goal deficit into a remarkable 4-3 victory for the Spanish side.
Roma’s celebrations quickly gave way to disappointment as Real Madrid secured all three points in extraordinary fashion.
At the Etihad Stadium, PSG delivered an equally compelling performance to defeat Manchester City 4-2.
Despite City’s reported run of eight consecutive victories at the start of the season, the defending champions PSG proved too strong on the night.
The visitors made a flying start, scoring twice within the opening 15 minutes. Ousmane Dembélé doubled PSG’s advantage in the 15th minute, while Vitinha extended the lead to 3-0 in the 32nd minute, leaving City struggling to contain the French side’s attack.
Manchester City attempted to fight back after the interval, with Erling Haaland scoring to reduce the deficit to 3-1. However, PSG restored their three-goal advantage in the 62nd minute through Akliouche.
Haaland scored again to make it 4-2, but City could not complete a comeback of their own. PSG held on for a convincing victory away from home.
