Rajshahi, Oct 12 (V7N) – Athletes from Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang won 12 medals, including six gold and six silver, at the two-day Chattogram Open Taekwondo Championship 2026.

The competition was held at the Chattogram District Sports Association (CDA) Gymnasium with the support of the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation. A total of 480 athletes from 29 clubs across seven districts participated in the tournament.

Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang athletes delivered strong performances in both the men's and women's categories across different age groups.

In the men's category, Prince Adnan, competing in the under-7 age group, won gold medals in both individual poomsae and kyorugi. Mohammad Ahnaf Islam, in the under-9 category, secured gold in kyorugi and silver in individual poomsae. Mohammad Abir Ahmed Parash, competing in the under-14 category, won gold in individual poomsae and silver in kyorugi.

In the women's category, Fahmida Haque Ira won gold medals in both individual poomsae and kyorugi in the under-7 age group. Marin Ashrafi, competing in the under-17 category, won gold in individual poomsae and silver in kyorugi. Jafrin Zara, in the under-14 category, secured silver medals in both individual poomsae and kyorugi.

Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain attended the opening ceremony as the chief guest. The event was conducted by Mohammad Salahuddin, member-secretary of the CDA ad hoc committee, and Abdullah Al Noman, member-secretary of the tournament organising committee.

At the closing ceremony and prize distribution programme, Bangladesh Cricket Board director and Finance Committee Chairman Israfel Khusru attended as the chief guest, while Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation General Secretary Mahmudul Islam Rana was present as a special guest.

The achievements brought enthusiasm among the coaches, athletes and parents of Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang.
