Dhaka, Sep 25 (V7N) – The Asia Cup Super Four reaches a decisive stage tonight as Bangladesh and Pakistan clash in what is being dubbed an “unwritten semi-final.” The match begins at 8:30 pm Bangladesh time at the Dubai International Stadium.

India has already booked their place in the final, and the winner of this match will join them. In their last five T20 meetings, Pakistan holds the edge with three wins compared to two for Bangladesh. However, Liton Das’ side claimed victory in their most recent T20 series against Pakistan.

Bangladesh may field a reshuffled XI after their 41-run defeat to India. Skipper Liton Das is expected to return from injury, while Sheikh Mehedi Hasan and Taskin Ahmed are also likely to rejoin the lineup.

Pakistan, who started the Super Four with a loss to India but bounced back strongly against Sri Lanka, remain confident. Star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi said in the pre-match press conference:

“Bangladesh is a good team. They have been playing well recently. To face them, we must focus on ourselves and perform in all departments. Our eyes are now on the match against Bangladesh.”

Bangladesh, who began the Super Four with a win over Sri Lanka, will be looking to rebound after their defeat to India last night. Both teams now have everything to play for as a spot in the Asia Cup final against India hangs in the balance.
