New York, Sep 25 (V7N) – Principal Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Wednesday.
According to the Principal Advisor’s press wing, the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere at a New York hotel.
Earlier during the UNGA session, Dr. Yunus also paid courtesy calls on King Felipe VI of Spain, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay.
In addition, he held discussions with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gore.
Dr. Yunus is also scheduled to brief U.S. President Donald Trump later today about Bangladesh’s upcoming February 2025 national parliamentary elections and the country’s democratic transition.
The Chief Advisor arrived in New York on Monday to attend the UN conference.
