Pabna, Oct 02 (V7N) – Pabna-5 MP Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas drew attention at a Channel i anniversary programme in Pabna by choosing to sit at one side of the stage in deference to senior academics and other respected figures.

The programme was held at the Pabna Press Club on Thursday to mark the anniversary of Channel i, with Biswas attending as the chief guest. Senior educators, a freedom fighter, government officials and business leaders were among those present.

Senior educator Mahtab Uddin Biswas, Professor Shibjit Nag, District Council Administrator and freedom fighter Johurul Islam Bishu, Deputy Commissioner Aminul Islam, Superintendent of Police Abu Ashraf, businessman Golam Rabbani Kamna and businessman Rana Biswas were among the guests on the stage.

As some of the educators on the stage were older than Biswas and included his former teachers, he moved to a chair at one side of the stage rather than taking a central seat, according to people attending the event. His gesture drew attention from those present.

The incident prompted discussion among attendees about respect for senior citizens, teachers and people with greater experience, regardless of their official position or status.

Speakers at the programme also stressed the importance of mutual respect, courtesy and social etiquette in building a humane society.

The event featured discussions and greetings marking Channel i's anniversary, bringing together people from different professional and social backgrounds.
